Success Story: How Humanside Used MooveXR to Create a Team-Building Dynamic for a Major Catalan Supermarket Chain

Introduction

Since 2012, Mooveteam has collaborated with event agencies to provide the best technological solution using mobile devices to carry out innovative and effective team-building dynamics. Over the years, our platform has evolved to create immersive experiences that go beyond traditional dynamics.

Humanside is one of our trusted partners: they have been integrating MooveXR into their proposals for years to offer differentiated corporate experiences. In May 2025, Humanside was tasked with energizing 650 participants (store managers, shift leaders, and department heads) from a prominent Catalan supermarket chain. The challenge was immense: design a 45-minute experience (including briefing, activity, and debriefing) that would develop leadership skills through logic, lateral thinking, and mathematics challenges. Thanks to the joint effort with Mooveteam, they were able to turn a conventional corporate gathering into a perfectly orchestrated gamified adventure.

1. Key Values

  1. Commitment from the First Minute
    The client only had 45 minutes for briefing, activity, and debriefing. Therefore, each challenge was designed so that participants could start immediately and be immersed in the game from minute one.
  2. Custom Creativity
    Humanside prepared 50 questions (ABCD quizzes) and 10 mini-games (6 “Guess the Word” and 4 “Related Words”), all activated with QR codes. Each item addressed specific objectives of the supermarket chain: analytical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and quick decision-making.
  3. Purpose-Driven
    Each challenge reinforced corporate values: customer service and teamwork. The participants, mainly mid-level managers, experienced how to apply those skills under pressure and collaboratively.
  4. Scalability and “Flow”
    The experience demonstrated that MooveXR can scale to large volumes: 650 participants distributed in 62 teams of approximately 10 people, managed without technical or logistical issues.

2. The Challenge

  • Mass Participation in Express Format
    • 650 attendees (store managers, shift leaders, and department heads).
    • 62 teams of approximately 10 people.
    • Only 45 minutes total for briefing, activity, and debriefing.
    • Objective: develop leadership skills (decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving) in a playful way.
  • Hybrid-Urban Format in a Single Space
    • All dynamics took place on numbered round tables within a convention center, under brick vaults.
    • Each team had to move quickly between physical “checkpoints” without wasting time on unnecessary travel.
  • Breaking the Rigidity of Static Workshops
    • Replace presentations and non-interactive talks with real-time collaborative challenges.
    • The client requested something more dynamic than a conventional workshop.

3. Humanside Solution with MooveXR

3.1 Kick-off and Plenary Briefing

  • Objective: Align expectations and energize the group in under 10 minutes.
  • Mechanics:
    • A moderator presented “La clau de l’èxit”: reinforcing customer service and team collaboration through logic challenges.
    • The operation of the MooveXR app was reviewed: how to scan QR codes, answer questions, and check feedback on the screen.

3.2 QR-Activated Challenges

  • Bank of 50 Questions (ABCD Quiz)
    1. 30 “– QR” Challenges placed at numbered stations (one question per station).
    2. 20 Printed Items (backup in case of signal or QR failure).
  • Themed Mini-Games
    • 6 “Guess the Word” Challenges (lateral thinking).
    • 4 “Related Words” Challenges (concept association).
  • Table Dynamics:
    1. Each station displayed a QR code and its table number.
    2. When scanned with the MooveXR app, the screen presented the question.
    3. Teams responded (options A, B, C, D) and tapped “Submit.”
    4. Depending on Humanside’s configuration, the correct answer was shown optionally, adjusting the difficulty level.
    5. Points were awarded instantly, and teams moved on to the next station.

3.3 Real-Time Monitoring and Feedback

  • “Initial Ranking” Dashboard on the staff’s tablet:
    • Facilitators, identified by reflective vests, viewed the live ranking in real time.
    • The top three teams were always highlighted (for example:
      • Team 30: 815 pts
      • Team 49: 749 pts
      • Team 58: 735 pts
    • The remaining teams and their points were listed below.
  • On-the-Fly Adjustments:
    • If a team got stuck, the staff sent additional hints via the platform.
    • Thanks to the custom development, the Staff console allowed:
      1. Show/Hide the Correct Answer at any time.
      2. Apply Bonuses or Penalties manually to adjust the competition’s pace.

3.4 Closing and Data Collection

  • Tablet Return:
    • The staff aligned 65 devices next to a decorative cube showing the date, facilitating orderly collection.
    • Each tablet downloaded the complete record of answers, response times, and scores.
  • Immediate Report:
    • The platform generated a report with key metrics:
      • % of challenges solved ( > 90 %, at least 54/60 items).
      • Average response time (~45 seconds per question).
      • Engagement: 650 active participants.
      • Technical incidents: 0.

4. Results Achieved

  • 100 % of teams started and completed the experience within the scheduled time.
  • > 90 % of the challenges solved per team (at least 54 of 60).
  • 65 tablets managed without technical or logistical incidents.
  • 0 external hints needed: the QR+paper mechanics and the show/hide answer option proved self-explanatory.
  • “Hot” reports with participation and performance metrics, available in under 5 minutes after completion.

5. Key MooveXR Element

Mooveteam’s Collaboration and Support
To adapt the experience to the 45-minute requirement and 650 participants, two custom developments were essential:

  1. Optional Display of the Correct Answer in the MooveXR app, which allowed adjusting the challenge level and speeding up the game dynamics.
  2. Special Scoring System in the Staff Console, with the ability to apply bonuses/manual scores in real time.
    Without these adjustments, the activity would not have been feasible in such a short timeframe and with so many participants.
